I don’t know about you but I am finding it more and more difficult to discern what is the real truth about anything that I read in the newspapers, online or see on TV. All the information from the media and the internet seems to be filled with contradicting views that makes it impossible for me to accurately figure out what’s real and what’s not.
Almost everything that was written in textbooks from my childhood has been invalidated or reinterpreted by someone, somewhere, who has a different perspective about the events that helped to shape my perception of the world.
Our day to day events don’t make any sense anymore. I am having a difficult time believing anyone as I am leery of an agenda trying to lead me down a rabbit hole of disinformation. It’s not just liberal and conservative differences of opinions being espoused for political reasons. Our entire perceived reality seems to be built on shaky ground.
This is creating so much conflict in our world as confused people fight each other over who is right about their different misinterpretations. The people’s angst and anxiety is showing. Just listen to the news of the day and you can see it unfold before your very eyes.
Compounding our confusion, we are entering an era where disclosure of new and once kept secret information is being filtered out to us. What we used to believe is being proven wrong. I am feeling like I did when my parents finally told me the truth about Santa Claus; invalidated, dazed and confused. What is real and what is the truth? Why is this happening, who is behind it and what are we to do about it?
Life has always been mysterious since time immemorial. It seems that there really are no tangible answers to some of the most important questions of life. We may have our opinions, but they are nothing more than that.
One thing is for sure to me after many years of pondering; anything and everything that comes from the mouth and pen of man is imperfect and fallible. That includes this article! I have no faith in man’s ability to accurately understand all that goes on in this world.
Anything that is man-made will eventually crumble. Anything proven will be disproven or invalidated. Everyone is just here temporarily and we all have a limited perception of what happens to us. It seems that we may not be able to trust what we believe to see and feel as real.
We definitely can’t trust what anyone else sees and feels either. That especially means the media that bombards us with out and out lies. It also means our government that is no longer of the people, by the people, for the people.
Life is very mysterious and is way beyond our abilities to comprehend. The best we can do, in my imperfect and humble opinion, is to not get too caught up in the drama and trauma that comes with believing what is on the TV or in the newspapers or the internet. One thing to let go of is trying to convince others of our way (the right way) to see things.
Maybe the best we can do is to become an observer of the mysteries and try and be amused with this “mystery tour” that we all are on. As observers, we can detach from the personal nature of what is happening to us. We can view life like we are viewing a movie and just watch it unfold ,as it is truly an interesting spectacle. What a wild ride indeed!
